Holistic Approaches to Lyme Disease
With Richard Mandlebaum
6:30 – 8:30 | June 14, June 21, and June 28
a three-part series discussing herbal and natural approaches for prevention and addressing Lyme and coinfections
Three Tuesday evenings, two hours each in Piermont

A diagnosis or suspicion of Lyme disease can be an incredibly stressful and difficult labyrinth to navigate, from mainstream medicine denying the existence of chronic Lyme to holistic practitioners offering countless competing opinions.  Richard Mandelbaum has been supporting people with Lyme for over fifteen years in addition to traveling his own health journey with the illness, and has shared his perspective on it in multiple venues including the Remedy online docu-series, and multiple podcasts and health conferences. In this three-part series of workshops we will discuss: acute vs. chronic Lyme, preventive steps, diagnostics and how to interpret labs and bloodwork for Lyme and coinfections; and how to regain health and wellness when confronting this health challenge, including herbs, supplements, food and diet, and lifestyle changes.

Richard will also present some of his unique perspective on the disease, including the importance of addressing emotional and cognitive impacts of Lyme, and how to reframe chronic Lyme in a very different way than is usually discussed. This class is open to anyone but a basic understanding of Lyme (Borreliosis) will be helpful.

Richard Mandelbaum RH has been practicing as an herbalist for over 20 years, with a background in both Chinese and Western herbal traditions and a passion for our native, local plants. He is co-founder and co-director of the ArborVitae School of Traditional Herbalism in New York City, and is on the faculty at David Winston’s Center for Herbal Studies. Richard was a board member of the American Herbalists Guild from 2012-2018, serving as Secretary and as chair of the Committee for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Richard embraces herbalism as an affirmation of our biome and planet, and is also active in issues related to sustainability, social justice, and fair trade.
